Various SCCA Members Assist in Cleanup and Restoration

Recovery Efforts After LA Fires Show Remarkable Progress

Recovery efforts across the Southland following the recent LA fires have been nothing short of extraordinary. Communities have come together to support cleanup operations, and Phase 1 of debris removal was completed in just 28 days with Phase 2 now underway. In a major win for expedited recovery, permits were issued in only 57 days—half the time of similar past events—thanks to Mayor Karen Bass, who used executive authority to fast-track approvals and get crews to work quickly.

As of April 11, 2025, 360 properties have been cleared. In addition, 10,000 feet of concrete barriers and 6,500 sandbags have been strategically placed to protect sites from rain-related setbacks. Several recovery resources have also been launched, including a disaster recovery center, a one-stop rebuilding center, and four support centers for impacted workers and families. Tax relief options are now available for affected businesses as well.

SCCA members have been instrumental in these efforts—managing hazardous materials, clearing debris, and helping restore properties throughout the region. We extend our sincere thanks to all SCCA members and workers involved in the cleanup for their dedication and service.
