ONLINE ONLY COURSE 

Summer is almost here so it is time to conduct your Heat Illness Prevention training. CCR Title 8 Section 3395, adopted on June 15, 2005, in conjunction with CCR Title 8 Section 3203, requires all employers having employees exposed to hot work environments (i.e. over 85°F and / or high humidity environments), indoor or outdoor, to train per the following elements. This Employee level course covers the elements as listed below:

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • Employee Training (1 hour)

    • Recognizing heat illness risk factors, symptoms, and prevention.
    • Employer procedures for heat safety compliance.
    • Importance of frequent water intake (up to 4 cups per hour).
    • Acclimatization and its role in heat tolerance.
    • Reporting symptoms in yourself or coworkers.
    • Employer emergency response procedures, including medical services and transport.
    • Ensuring clear worksite directions for emergency responders.

    Supervisor Training (1.5 hours)

    • Covers all employee training topics.
    • Implementing heat safety protocols.
    • Responding to heat illness symptoms and emergencies.
    • Monitoring weather reports and responding to heat advisories.
