The State & Local Legislative Committee monitors several hundred bills at the state level each year that could potentially affect SCCA members and the construction industry. The committee also educates members on these bills and takes an active stance on proposed bills to either help pass or defeat legislation at the state level.
This committee maintains two Subcommittees: the Subcommittee on Local Government Affairs (SOLGA) and the Subcommittee on Transportation Policy (STP). The subcommittees identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships with counties, cities, and regulatory agencies. These partnerships provide invaluable forums for members to have their voices heard and to educate policymakers on how their decisions impact members and the industry at-large.
